Welcome. This site promotes Australian heritage
architecture through the work of artist Olga Gostin.
Australia's architectural heritage is replete with many Colonial, Victorian and Federation
era masterpieces found in all major and regional cities. Of particular note are the raised
Victorian dwellings found in Queensland.
Olga has captured the beauty of heritage houses, storefronts and
public buildings through her watercolours. Her sense of colour, proportion and artistic
license have brought back life to those architectural examples that need renovation and a
fresh coat of paint. Upon viewing Olgas work, one is instantly transported to a
nostalgic past where iron laced balconies and other elaborate ornamentations were the
order of the day.
Allegria Promotions has reproduced much
of Olgas work on this site. The intent was not just to promote Olgas work but
also to promote Australias architecture to an audience largely accustomed to
stereotypical Australian images of Kangaroos and long sandy beaches. Visitors to Australia
are genuinely amazed by the architectural heritage found in such a "new"
country. Through Olgas prints, Allegria Promotions hopes that a visitor can obtain a
different perspective of what constitutes Australian architecture.
This site is a work in progress. Ultimately all of Olga's work will
be included with each work fully described in terms of its location and architectural
characteristics. Please visit often.
