Three periods of Australian architecture are represented in this scene starting from the Victorian stone toll tower (late 1800s) to the industrial iron of the Harbour Bridge (1930) and finally to the Opera House (1970s). Generations of seagulls have been onlookers to the growth and development of the harbour foreshores.
