Federation House
Haberfield (Sydney), Australia
A beautiful hexagonal conservatory is a feature of this
Haberfield house. Conservatories were usually attached to the house and were used for
displays of exotic indoor plants. The flowing design of rosebuds on leadlight windows,
shows a strong Art Nouveau influence. The house is built of brown brick on a solid
sandstone foundation. The slate roof has a decorative terracotta finial and the vivid
green tiles add importance to the entrance steps.
