Queensland Federation
Mansion
Ipswich (Queensland), Australia
A fine example of Queenslands Federation
architecture, this residence was built in 1910 for a well-to-do businessman. It is now a
well-known club. Elevated on stumps, it is surrounded by an elaborate double stairway to
the entrance porch. Its tiled hip roof was uncommon for that time when the traditional
roofing material was galvanized iron.
